2024 Corcoran Area Candidate Forums

League of Women Voters to Hold Candidate Forums

In the weeks prior to the November 5th General Election, The League of Women Voters Wayzata-Plymouth Area (LWVWPA) and the League of Women Voters Brooklyn Park-Osseo-Maple Grove (BPOMG) will host a series of Candidate Forums for Corcoran area voters. The forums will include candidates for the following races:

• Hennepin County Commissioner District 7
• State House District 37A
• Corcoran City Council
• Osseo School Board (ISD 279)

The purpose of the forums is to give Corcoran voters an opportunity to hear candidates discuss the issues of importance to them in this election. All candidates will be invited to participate.  LWV candidate forums are hosted by experienced moderators and follow the nonpartisan, unbiased and impartial format established by the League of Women Voters Minnesota. These events are free and open to the public.

Questions in Advance

Candidates will respond to questions on a wide variety of issues of concern to voters. The email address to submit questions in advance is specific to each forum and is included in the forum details below.  The League asks that submitted questions indicate the name of the forum in the subject line. By League of Women Voter policy, the identity of the person asking the question is confidential. Any questions submitted via email will remain confidential with all identifying information removed before the event.

September 23 - Hennepin County Commissioner District 7 Forum
The Hennepin County Commissioner District 7 Forum will take place on Monday, September 23, 2024, at 7:45 p.m. at Plymouth City Hall, 3400 Plymouth Boulevard, Plymouth, MN 55447. This forum, hosted by LWVWPA, will be livestreamed and recorded for future viewing. The livestream and recording will be available at www.lwvwpa.org. Send questions in advance to [email protected].

September 24 - MN House District 37A Forum
The MN House District 37A forum, hosted by LWV-BPOMG, will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the Maple Grove Council Chamber, 12800 Arbor Lakes Parkway North, Maple Grove, MN 55369. September 30 - Corcoran City Council Forum
The Corcoran City Council Forum will take place at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Hope Community Church, 19951 Oswald Farm Road, Corcoran, MN. This forum will be hosted by LWVWPA. October 24 - Osseo Area School Board (ISD 279) Forum
The Osseo School Board Forum, hosted by LWV-BPOMG, will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Brooklyn Park City Hall, 5200 85th Avenue North, Brooklyn Park, MN.
